Editor, The Nonproliferation Review

Reporting to the director of the Center for Nonproliferation Studies
(CNS), the Editor works with the Managing Editor on all aspects of
The Nonproliferation Review, a peer-reviewed international policy
journal published by the center. Responsibilities include soliciting
and selecting manuscripts, copy-editing drafts, corresponding with
authors and reviewers, participating in layout, and communicating
with the publisher. Other duties may include (depending on the
successful candidate's experience and CNS needs): managing CNS
website publications and products, periodic teaching in the
nonproliferation field, developing and organizing periodic
nonproliferation conferences or workshops, and participating in
center-wide research projects.

Qualifications for the position include some editorial experience,
firm knowledge of nonproliferation issues, ability to use (or learn)
PageMaker, proficiency with Windows word processing and e-mail
programs, experience in meeting deadlines, and excellent
English-language writing and editing skills. Educational
qualifications include at least an M.A. (or equivalent experience) in
International Relations, Political Science, Public Policy, or a
related discipline (including in relevant scientific fields), with a
Ph.D. preferred.

The position is full-time (with benefits) and can be located in
either the CNS offices in Monterey, California, or in Washington, DC.
