NGOs Meet their Match on the Net
A new contact-finding service has been launched on the Internet to encourage
partnerships between organisations in Central and Eastern Europe, the Newly
Independent States and the UK.
Contact Finder -http:www.charityknowhow.org - will provide advice and
information to NGOs on all aspects of relationship building, from
identifying needs to communicating with potential partners.
Developed by Charity Know How (CKH), a grant making body that supports the
non-profit sector in the region, Contact Finder is designed to signpost
organisations seeking contacts with other organisations working on specific
issues or in specific countries.
Contact Finder will offer a step-by-step guide to seeking appropriate
partners, looking at why partnerships - should be considered in the first
place, the types of partners that should be sought and how they can be
identified.
Contact Finder also provides tools for assessing your organisation and
identifying its specific needs and offers links to the sites of non-profit
and funding organisations throughout Central and Eastern Europe and the
Newly Independent States, as well as to UK-based organisations, supporting
groups in the region.
CKH has contributed over £3 million to developing partnerships and the
exchange of skills and expertise between non-profit organisations. A unique
collaboration of private donors and government, CKH brings together the
Department for International Development, CAF (Charities Aid Foundation) and
a number of leading British Foundations and Trusts.
Through its grant making programme, and now its new Contact Finder service,
CKH aims to provide opportunities for learning between organisations and
across borders.
Charity Know How would like to see this service grow and develop in the
coming years and will be encouraging visitors to make an active contribution
by adding information and indicating further appropriate web sites of their
own.
If you have further suggestions on websites which should be added to the
Contact Finder service, please contact us via email at the following
specific address : contactfinder@caf.charitynet.org
Please note that we are unable to add individual NGOs to our list, but we
are keen to integrate further lists which can assist organisations to find
counterparts.
If your organisation provides information and support to the Non Profit
sector in your country, please publicise this new service. If you wish to
link our website to yours, then please do so, letting us know as a courtesy.
with best wishes
