Citizens Democracy Corps has an exciting program in Azerbaijan.
Currently we are recruiting for a volunteer advisor/lecturer who can
give a seminar-workshop on international business practices (IBP)
over a 2-4 day period with local businesses. The seminar will take
place in early October in Baku.

Housing, airfare, and translation provided. The volunteer advisor
will give assistance in the worthwhile effort of bringing local
companies up to par to be able to bid on and win contracts with the
international companies present in Azerbaijan.

In general terms, this first workshop on IBP will focus on how to
transact business with international companies: what marketing
activities will get a local company in the door of an international
one, what local businesses need to know in terms of negotiating a
contract with an international company, and what kinds of contracts
exist. Business communication (oral, written) is the next main
topic, and Western Business Ethics is the last topic on the draft
agenda.
