The Technical Cooperation Centre of the International Organization for
Migration has an opening in Vienna for an intern to assist with compiling
information on best international practices in migration management and
disseminating such information to IOM field offices in Eastern Europe and
the former Soviet Union. The intern will also monitor various newslists and
compile weekly news summaries of information on migration issues in the
region, including visa practices, illegal migration/trafficking, etc.
Recent successful interns have been nationals of former Soviet republics who
have studied law or public administration in the United States
or western Europe.

Required skills:
--fluent written and spoken English language ability
--proficient use of Microsoft Word
--proficient research abilities using the Internet
--strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with persons from
other cultures

Preference give to applicants with Russian language skills, and a degree in
law, public policy, or public administration,

Compensation will be available in the form of a Monthly Sustenance
Allowance, the amount of which is determined pursuant to guidelines issued
by IOM Headquarters in Geneva (based on education level and proximity to
workplace).
