1. Project Assistant
********************
The Institute for Democracy in Eastern Europe (IDEE), a small,
not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting independent civic
organizations and media in Central and Eastern Europe and the former
Soviet Union, seeks a full-time project assistant for its Caucasus
and Balkan projects. Duties: work closely with IDEE project director
to implement and monitor grants. The project assistant will be
involved in both project and grant management, including coordinating
grant activities with IDEE's NGO partners in the region, narrative
and financial reporting, budget tracking, as well as travel and
meeting logistics.
Requirements: Knowledge of the region; excellent writing,
organizational, and communications skills; and knowledge of
word/wordperfect and excel/quattro pro. Special consideration will be
given to applicants with Russian and/or Serbo-Croatian language
skills and previous experience with NGOs.
2. General Assistant

The Institute for Democracy in Eastern Europe (IDEE), a small, not-for-profit
organization dedicated to supporting independent civic organizations and media
in Central and Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union, seeks a full-time
general assistant. Duties: assist IDEE staff with correspondence, project
management, grants management, budget tracking, and travel and meeting
logistics. Assistants will also provide general support for the day-to-day
management of the office.
Requirements: Prior office experience; excellent administrative,
organizational, and communications skills; and knowledge of
word/wordperfect and excel/quattro pro. Special consideration will be
given to applicants with internet and website experience,
demonstrated interest in the region, and previous experience with
NGOs.
Salaries commensurate with experience.
