Charitable fund "Women. Family. Charity."
WFC is a non-governmental, non-profit women's organization. It was
established in September, 1998. WFC's original premise was to help
women and their families face the changing times and to provide
support that the government was unable to provide. More specifically,
WFC's mission is: improvement social status of mothers; social,
psychological and legal support for unmarried mothers; prophylaxis
for young mothers, reproductive medicine service, health protection
of children; occupational training of women in the period after their
maternity leave; scientific and practical support for women who set
up their own business; violence prevention; charity, social aid for
orphans, families that have many children and poor families.
WFC has four brunch offices in different rayons of Kirovograd oblast.
WFC is the founder of Volunteer Centre that has three regional branch
offices in Svitlovodsk, Olexandria and Znamyanka.
More than 400 volunteers work for WFC. Twelve state and private
institutions, commercial enterprises, public organizations and
artistic groups are the members of WFC. Municipal children's
polyclinic, maternity hospital, Pedagogical Academy, insurance
company "Garantavto", private enterprise "Prime", Association of
Business Ladies, Independent Trade Union of Businessmen, Fashion-Show
Theatre are among them.
Permanently realized programs: "Young Mother, You Are Not Lonely",
"The Basket of a Young Mother", " Proficient Training ", "Learn to
Communicate, Baby!", "Women's Leadership", "Image Making", "Help for
Gifted Children", " Psychological Support For Children From
Unfortunate Families".
Recently, with the financial support of the U.S. Peace Corps WFC has
issued and distributed among women at risk a series of informational
pamphlets devoted to the problems of drug addiction, toxic substance
abuse, prevention deceitful placing of women in a job abroad, an
prevention of violent acts towards Ukrainian women who work in
foreign countries. Also a number of informational seminars on these
issues has been conducted.
