IRI Moscow has two job openings:
Who We Are:
The International Republican Institute (IRI) is an organization dedicated to
advancing democracy worldwide. IRI conducts programs outside the United
States to promote democracy and strengthen free markets and the rule of law.
The programs are tailored to the needs of pro-democracy activists in over 30
countries . By aiding emerging democracies, IRI plays a valuable role in
helping bring greater stability to the world. Stable democracies not only
further the cause of peace, but also enhance American opportunities for
business investment and trade. In Russia, IRI conducts programming that
assists pro-democracy activists in the organization of political parties,
campaign management as well as specialized programs for women, youth, and
NGO development.
IRI is not part of the Republican Party of the United States. Its programs
are nonpartisan and adhere to fundamental American principles such as
individual liberty, the rule of law, and the entrepreneurial spirit that
fosters economic development.
Program Officer
Job Description:
The responsibilities of a Program Officer will include:
Conduct training programs that include -- but are not limited to --
political party/candidate training and training of elected officials and
staff. This responsibility includes budgeting, spending and reconciling
financial documents
Act the lead contact for IRI's work with local self-governance in Russia.
This responsibility involves developing and maintaining contacts in this
community, creating programs to help develop this community as a strong
political force in Russia and reporting on activities within this community
Share in general office responsibilities -- including but not limited to -
weekly reporting on activities, regular contact with CIS division staff in
IRI-Washington, etc.
Requirements
3 years of experience with international development projects/NGO work
Motivated, self-starter, team oriented
Windows 98, MS Word, Corel Word Perfect
Fluent English
Program Assistant/Assistant Program Officer
Job Description:
The responsibilities of a Program Assistant/Assistant Program Officer will
include:
Assisting in the development and drafting of program goals and
guidelinesfor the assigned project.
Assisting in the preparation and execution of training seminars and
facilitation of consultations in various regions.
A Weekly report regarding activities and information gathered from
meetings and contacts.
Translation of meetings and communications.
Other duties assigned by the Resident Program Director.
