To Readers of the Civil Society Mail List:

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) Technical
Cooperation Centre in Vienna is compiling a resume bank of potential
expert consultants for our Capacity Building in Migration Management
Programmes throughout the former Soviet Union and in other countries.
Depending on the level of expertise, IOM uses consultants in various
ways, from very targeted two-week consultancies (designed to produce
a set of recommendations, usually for a particular airport or border
crossing) to longer term on-site work advising on inspection and
visa processes, training and other issues.

If you fit the following profile:

--university degree and five years or more experience with an
immigration agency, border police, or aliens police entity (or ten
years experience without a degree)
--fluent spoken and written English
--ability to adapt your experience and training to situations quite
different from those in your home country
--strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with
persons from other cultures

and are interested in being considered for consulting work, please
send your resume or CV with a cover letter describing your areas of
interest and your availability to:

                IOM Technical Cooperation Centre
                Attn: Lisa Batey
                Nibelungengasse 13/4
                A-1010 Vienna
                Austria
                or via e-mail to: lbatey@iom.int

The ideal candidate would be a career migration official from a
Schengen country who has either retired or can take a leave of
absence, and who has familiarity with migration management practices
of countries both within and outside Schengenland. Consultants with
basic knowledge of the Russian language or experience working in the
former Soviet Union are particularly encouraged to submit their CVs.

This call for resumes is an effort to create a bank of CVs for
consideration for future consulting needs, not for any particular
current project. If you would like to learn more about the work of
the TCC, please visit our website:
