Dear CivilSoc members:
As an addendum to the previous post...
CivilSoc, as you know, is a service offered without charge to you,
our 1,600+ subscribers worldwide. But it obviously takes time and
resources to maintain.
Friends and Partners, based in Knoxville, TN, and Pushchino, Russia,
very generously donates the computer support. CCSI staff donate the
labor time. The value of that time, depending on whose salaries are
being counted, range from $12,000 up. We do it because we believe the
service is an important one--for the NIS, for the U.S., for you.
If you value CivilSoc, now would be a good time to write a check to
CCSI (donations are tax-deductible) and show your support. We can
also take donations by credit card. Just call in or send us your
card number and expiration date, with the amount you want charged.
Those who donate $50 or more to CCSI from now until the end of
February, will receive a free copy of our just-published "Internet
Resources for Eurasia" (the 2000 edition) as a "thank-you." This
109-page annotated guide to more than 330 Web sites and listservs
related to the NIS represents a $15 value. If you want the guide,
just indicate this when you make your contribution.
Best regards,
Holt Ruffin
Executive Director
