New York NGO seeks program officer to coordinate
partnership with Russian National Press Institute
New York University's Center for War, Peace, and the News Media seeks a
Program Coordinator to help administer its media-sector projects in
Russia. The Center is the founder and partner of the National Press
Institute (NPI), a Russian NGO with a staff of 45 at seven sites
throughout Russia. NPI works to strengthen Russia's independent
media--primarily regional non-state newspapers--through a variety of
innovative training, consulting, and technology projects. More

The Program Coordinator, based at the Center's office in New York, will
report to the Director for Eurasian Programs and be responsible for the
following:
--Project development research;
--Coordination of U.S.-based program work;
--Budget tracking and project budgeting;
--Assistance in U.S. fundraising efforts for NPI;
--Development and distribution of promotional materials
--Maintenance of project files;
--Translations of Russian documents into English.
The Center seeks candidates with the following qualifications:
* BA in related field (MA preferred);
* at least 2 years experience in similar work;
* excellent written and oral communications skills;
* creativity, flexibility, self-motivation, and ability to work
under deadline;
* advanced Russian language ability.
