USIA, in partnership with USA Today newspaper, is sponsoring the
International Volunteer Awards to recognize American volunteers who
contribute to the cause of global understanding and international
education. Winners will receive $5000 for a non-profit organization of
their choice and a trip to Washington, DC, for an awards dinner in their
honor and a symposium. Deadline for nominations is November 1.
Please see the announcement on our website: http://e.usia.gov/millennium
If you would like to get printed copies of the announcement by mail,
please call the Office of Academic Exchanges at (202) 619-6409. I'll try
to facilitate this if you would like, but I will be on travel September
10-24.
Cheers,
Carolyn Lantz
