New Web Resource -- Corruption in Formerly-Communist Societies
I have recently compiled a bibliography and list of Internet resources =
having to do with Corruption in Formerly-Communist Societies at the =
following address:
http://people.colgate.edu/mjohnston
This compilation includes lists of print materials, focusing primarily =
upon those appearing in English since 1989, and a growing list of =
Internet links too. The geographic emphasis is upon the Former Soviet =
Union and the formerly-communist countries of Central/Eastern Europe. =
The project was initiated and supported by the Local Government and =
Public Service Reform Initiative of the Open Society Institute of The =
Soros Foundation, Budapest, Hungary. Those interested in corruption and =
reform issues in other parts of the world might also find this website a =
good place to start.
The project is a part of my own research on corruption, which dates from =
the mid-1970s. For the past several years I've been working on =
corruption, democratization, and development -- hence the interest in =
this region. I hope you will take a look at the site, and then send me =
your comments, suggestions, additions, and corrections at =
mjohnston@mail.colgate.edu -- many thanks!
