Some weeks ago, I noted an internet announcement of two new
publications from the Center for Civil Society International
(CCSI). Given the protocols on the net, the announcement was
rather low key - so some members of the list may have neglected
to look into the publications. I did order the publications, and
have since received them and had a chance to review them. I have
found both extremely useful, and would like to provide list
members with more information about the publications.

If you have an have an interest in links to the CEE/NIS region,
you may want to add these publications to your library. Let me
add, at the outset, that I am not affiliated with CCSI. However,
I do spend much time on the net, often providing pointers to
others in their search for CEE/NIS Information on the internet.
These publications will certainly be helpful.

To provide a better sense of the content, I have provided the
table of contents for each publication.

Footnote: For those not familiar with CCSI, (quoting, in abbrevi-
ated fashion, from their publications): The purpose of CCSI is to
support and promote international activities by American volun-
tary organizations and independent associations - our "third
sector" - that strengthen institutions of pluralistic, law based
and market oriented societies worldwide. The focus of CCSI activ-
ities is on building relationships and the exchange of informa-
tion between voluntary American organizations and "third sector"
organizations emerging in the new independent states (NIS).
