National Center for Nonprofit Boards Announces Opening
As a result of a major grant from the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation and
support from other donors, the National Center for Nonprofit Boards
(NCNB) is launching an international program and seeking their first
Director of International Programs. The position will be based in
Washington, DC, and the deadline for applications is October 12.
The primary responsibility of the Director will be to find ways by which
the NCNB can strengthen the boards of NGOs outside the US. The principal
strategy of doing this will be by developing partnerships with key
national and regional organizations interested in strengthening volunteer
leadershisp of NGOs in their countries.
The initial focus of work will be Latin America, Central and Eastern
Europe and South Africe. Requirements for being considered include
significant experience with NGOs outside the U.S., experience conducting
training programs and workshops for people of other cultures, fluency in
at least one other language, and ability to travel 25% of the time.
