Subject: Education for Democracy and Personality
Good day!
I am writing from Israel, and it is not a secret for anyone how many
emigrants from NIS came to this country in the last five years. I am
one of them.
One of subjects of my work with new emigrants is education for DEMOCRACY,
not for citizenship. The greatest problem in this field is the
misunderstanding of western educators of the post-communist specific
meaning of terms like political participation, political responsibility
and so on.
One of the most difficult things for me was to connect with people on
personal level, that is for my opinion the "Russian friendship"
prerogative. Therefore I found a problem at the personal level of
understanding democracy by participants.
I will appreciate any information from people that are working in the
field of education for democracy, and connection of democracy with
personality.

Thanks, Alex.
