Association RES PUBLICA
The Estonian youth association RES PUBLICA is forming a chapter
in the United States and seeks members and other interested people
to be involved.
RES PUBLICA is a voluntary association of young people who believe
in democracy and the free market economy. It was formed
in Estonia in 1989 by a group of young intellectuals as a political
discussion club. By January of 1992, many college students who
were becoming politically aware, joined the organization and worked
to further its potential as a force in Estonian politics.
RES PUBLICA aims to educate young people about the political
process in Estonia. This goal is accomplished through seminars,
conferences and youth exchanges. Members are interested in
establishing ties between Estonian youth and like-minded youth
around the world and members of RES PUBLICA work closely with
international youth organizations.
Two clubs exist in Estonia, one in Tallinn and one in Tartu. The
soon-to-be United States chapter is the first one outside of Estonia.
It's sponsors are actively seeking new members. To
become a member, obtain information or to be put on the mailing
