Business, Academic, or Media Representation/Development in Russia

Successful experience in the development and application of academic and business projects from both the American and Soviet/Russian sides; reporting/broadcast analysis for both American and Russian publications/ broadcasters; and excellent working relationships with Moscow State University, the Academy of Sciences-Moscow, and Moscow-based research institutes, provides detailed familiarity with the problems and opportunities of American-Russian exchange. Representational and developmental consultancies for private and non-governmental business, academic, and media organizations will be considered.
Mrs. Moors is Vice President of American-Soviet Investment &
Development Associates (ASIDA), Inc.; Director of Operations and Russian 
Affairs, American-Russian Exchange Center, Duquesne University; and a 
former member of the administrative staff at the Academy of Sciences-Mosco
   From 1982 until 1989, Mrs. Moors was Executive Administrative Assistant
to the Scientific Director, Institute of Philosophy, Academy of
Sciences-Moscow.  In that capacity, she was responsible for daily
administrative oversight, coordination with the Praesidium of the Academy,
organization and coordination of international conferences and meetings,
academic exchanges, and publication of research results. 
   Other administrative experience at the Academy has included 
Coordinator for External Scholarship, Philosophy and Law Department 
(1989), and Conference Coordinator for the Sector on Topical Problems in 
Historical Materialism, Praesidium (1984-86).
   Mrs. Moors negotiated the agreement between Duquesne University, 
Pittsburgh, and the Academy of Sciences-Moscow which created the 
American-Russian Exchange Center at Duquesne.  She has also coordinated
the development  of a business education program between the university an
the Estonian Business School, Tallinn, directed the 1994 student exchange 
program at Moscow State University for Northeastern University, Boston, an
sits on the Steering Committees of the Pittsburgh-Novokuznetsk, Russian an
Pittsburgh-Donetsk, Ukraine Sister City Projects.
   Presently, Mrs. Moors is director of translation and facilitation 
services for a pending USAID sponsored program of instruction and 
internships for mid-level Russian local/regional planning officials.
   In her capacities with ASIDA, Inc., Mrs. Moors has served as the
contract negotiation director and service coordinator for 19 projects 
in Russia, Ukraine, and Lithuania.  She has also served as support serviceordinator for the Russian Investment Reform Working Commission in 
Moscow (1993).
   A well-known free-lance journalist, her column "Moscow Diary" is based
with the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.  Her work has also appeared in other
American, European, and Russian newspapers.  Her eyewitness accounts of
both the August 1991 Coup and the October 1993 uprising were widely
syndicated in American and European newspapers.  Mrs. Moors has served as
a commentator for both American and Russian radio and television. 
   Mrs. Moors has an M.A. degree in philosophy from Moscow State Universit
Other academic experience includes a position as adjunct professor and
program director, Moscow Study Abroad Program, Northeastern University,
Boston (1994); Soviet scholarly liaison, Department of Political Science,
Duquesne University, Pittsburgh (1990-91); lecturer in philosophy,
Institute of Archaeology, Moscow (1988-89); and Conference Board of
Directors, Society of Young Research Scientists, Humanities Division,
Moscow State University (1984-86). 
   In addition to native fluency in Russian, Mrs. Moors is conversant in 
German, Finnish, and Ukrainian.
