Togliatti

The following is a list of sites describing the city of Togliatti. Located in the Samara Oblast of the geographic region known as the Middle Volga, this city is 600 miles (1,000 kilometers) southeast of Moscow. Founded in 1737 as a fortress, it was known Stavropol-on Volga until 1964 (This is not to be confused with the current city of Stavropol.) The new name was in honor of Palmiro Togliatti, the leader of Italian Communists.

    Project Harmony

     

     

    Make sure to visit the Project Harmony web site. This is one of the best organizations involved in US, Russian exchange - and they've been at it for a long time (since the days when US and Russian exchange was limited mainly to music and performing arts). Colleen Halley does a super job with their site (and with the Internet School Linkages Program).
