Sosnovy Bor

This city of over 60,000 people is one of the youngest by Russian historical standards. It was first settled in 1958 but officially became a city in 1973. Located 80 kilometers (50 miles) from St. Petersburg, it was once a closed city to foreigners because of the Northwestern Center of Nuclear Power.
