Sergiev Posad
Sergiev Posad is one of the oldest Russian cities and, to many, the spiritual heart of the country. It is a beautiful city, known during the Soviet era as Zagorsk, with ancient churches and monasteries. It is the official residence of the Patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church.
