Samara

Founded in 1586, this region is situated in the center of the European part of Russia where the Volga and Samara Rivers meet. Once known as Kuybyshev or Kuibyshev , the city is approximately 800 kilometers (500 miles) southeast of Moscow. With a regional population of over 3.3 million, Samara was closed to foreign visitors prior to 1991.

We hope this list will continue to grow as more communities become represented on the World Wide Web so please be sure to let us know if you are aware of any other sites.
