We do not live an equal life, but one of contrast and patchwork; now a little joy, then a sorrow, now a sin, then a generous or brave action. - Ralph Waldo Emerson

If you are not allowed to laugh in heaven, I don't want to go there. - Martin Luther

Bashkortostan

Bashkortostan, formerly known as "Bashkiriya", is a republic in Central Russia that contains the southern Ural Mountains in the eastern part of the Republic and lowlands in the western section. The capital is the city of Ufa with a diverse population of Russians, Tatars, and Bashkirs. We have also attempted to list resources about the the smaller, less well-known towns of the republic.

We hope this list will continue to grow as more communities become represented on the World Wide Web so please be sure to let us know if you are aware of any other sites.
