This 38 page publication from the National Press covers a 1997 workshop given by the National Academy of Sciences in Washington, DC. This publication provides an abundance of important information on the future of this growing subject and may be read online or ordered for a minimal charge.
This is an excellent newsletter produced by the American Association for the Advancement of Science which serves as a clearinghouse of information on funding opportunities for scientists in the region of the former Soviet Union; conferences and meetings in that region; and general networking information for all disciplines. It is distributed through email (with free subscription) or on the Web.
The US Department of State annually releases these reports online. US government activities that support reform in Russia and the other eleven former Soviet Union countries are described in this valuable resource. (Note: Reports since 1996 are in PDF format.)
