The following activities were carried out by the project
officers in order to assist project development:
-
Daily project management activities were performed.
-
Technical and operational support was provided to PAPs and
organizations, connected to civnet.
-
Project officers provided technical help and regular consultations
to the project participants and organizations, connected to civnet, on
networking administration and equipment maintenance.
-
Project officers performed technical servicing and administration
of the Main Public Access Point and maintained the entire complex of services
based on it, including the sub-project "Web - workshop", full-time advisory
service, and Internet – class with ten workstations connected to the Internet.
-
We continued our work on formation and support of the server
" Voronezh Civic Network " (vcn.vorstu.ac.ru). The following sections were
updated regularly: "Regional News", "The Project Log", "The Bulletin Board".

We designed and published a web site “Our Web-studio”
(http: // vcn.vorstu.ac.ru/webstudia/index.htm).
-
We finished formation of a new web site “Center of a pre-hospital
medical care” http://vcn.vorstu.ac.ru/cdmp/index.htm
-
We designed and published new web site “Aeronautics Federation
of Russia (Voronezh branch)” http://vcn.vorstu.ac.ru/sergballoons/index.html

We maintained and updated old pages.

Great amount of work was carried out on expanding our contacts
with various organizations and individuals, interested in the project.Voronezh
Civnet. We continued to work with the editorial office of Voronezh State
Television and Radio Company. Five radio programs, describing activities
of the project, have been prepared by the project officers together with
the editorial officers of the Voronezh State TV and Radio Company.

The project officers have effectively assisted a sponsor
search of the Opera Studio at the Municipal Children's Performing Arts
School ¹ 4 for organization of tours and concerts of the opera studio collective.
-
The competition "Juvenile Designer" for the school students
who attend training courses in the Main PAP has been conducted. 70 eight,
nine, ten, and eleven graders have participated in the competition. Some
works may be considered significant intellectual achievements. were made
on enough high level.

The informational materials have been developed about the
project and its achievements to be exhibited and distributed at the international
exhibition “Training, Careers, Business, Jobs Abroad”, which was conducted
on the 20 –22 of April at support of Ministry of education of the Russian
Federation and Administrations of Voronezh region and city. The exhibition
has been attended by international organizations and foundations, Russian
and foreign employment and education agencies. The photos, taken at the
exhibition, are provided with the report.

with children invalids.

The following tasks have been practically completed: extension
of access of Voronezh citizens to resources of global network; granting
to Voronezh non-profit organizations an opportunity to publish materials;
providing assistance to local communities in design of their own web publications;
information support to existing and newly-formed non-profit organizations
in their activities.

Organization of training courses for Voronezh civnet users.

Establishment of interaction with organizations interested
in the project. Establishment of cooperation with representatives of non-electronic
means of mass media on a regular basis.

Absence of technical means necessary to connect Civnet’s
public access points to the Main Public Access Point (OCTAL CABLE KIT).
-
Absence of necessary technical equipment prevents many public
institutions from opening PAPs on their own basis.

training activities and number of individuals trained:
-
On the basis of the Main PAP facility, we organized classes
for school students of 7-11 grades. The overall number of students in all
groups is 40. The classes are conducted throughout the whole academic year.
Subjects of classes are "Fundamentals of vector graphics", “Corel Draw,
"Fundamentals of image graphics", “Adobe Photoshop”, "Fundamentals of HTML".

At the Main PAP Facility, we conducted classes according
to the following schedule:
Monday: 10-12 (1 group 10 trainees), 13-16 (1 group 7 trainees)
Tuesday: 10-13 (1 group 20 trainees)
Wednesday: 13-16 (1 group 7 trainees)
Thursday: 10-12 (1 group 10 trainees), 15-17 (1 group
11 trainees)
Friday: 15-17 (1 group 11 trainees)
Saturday: 10 -18 (6 groups each consisting of 6-7 persons,
total –38 trainees)
Sunday: 10- 15 (4 groups each consisting of 6-7 persons,
total –25 trainees)
Total, during report period 139 trainees

Continuation of cooperation with mass media for the purpose
of establishing new contacts and maintaining the already established contacts

aimed at communicating the project activities to the public.

Providing support to the civic network technical infrastructure.

crucial problems of our city and region, and most interesting aspects of
the city life on the server "Voronezh Civic Network".
