Foundation for Social Programs did the following work in the 1-st quarter of 2001:

In January we were busy by forming of proposals from Sergiev Posad organisations in aims to submit those proposals to "Initiative" Foundation (Great Britain) with following publishing at the site http://www.einitiative.org.

This work one can consider as a result of 3 days workshop that was held in Sergiev Posad in December. The topic of this workshop was "The process of fundraising with the help of computer technologies for promoting of social-significant projects in Sergiev Posad region". During this workshop 6 projects were examined and adopted:

1. The development of Sergiev Posad Civic Network

(Applicant – Foundation for Social Programs)

2. Providing of computer technique with Internet access to 20 secondary schools of Sergiev Posad region, Moscow region

(Applicant – Foundation for Social Programs)

3. The establishment of complex educational physical laboratory in particularised education organisation.

(Applicant – physics and mathematics school #2, Sergiev Posad city)

4. Application of computer Internet technologies to education sphere of Sergiev Posad region.

(Applicant – Sergiev Posad Academy of instrument-making and informatics)

5. Preventive measures on AIDS infection expansion among Sergiev Posad population.

(Applicant – Sergiev Posad Medical Centre)

6. The creation of cultural, historical and ethnographical centre "Master's City" in Sergiev Posad city.

(Applicant – "Master's City", Ltd)

In February there was signed an agreement with "Impulse", Ltd (communication operator) about joint activity and the access channel to Internet was enlarged.

In settlement GAES SP Civic Network opened a computer club, there were provided 6 computers with Internet access.

In March we initiated a holding of international conference in London (Great Britain). The main question of this conference was the attracting of investment funds for realisation of social-significant projects in Sergiev Posad region. Lord Owen, management of "Initiative" Foundation, representatives of public organisations, business and mass media took part in this conference.

Sergiev Posad region represented N.N. Chernyshov, deputy Mayor of Sergiev Posad city and Victor N. Nemov, Director of SP Civic Network Project.

The project "Master's City" got the further development, investor was determined.
