The urban development of Sarajevo can be compared to Bursa in Anatolia, the first capital of the Ottomans, which began its development 100 years before Sarajevo. It can also be compared to Banja Luka, in Bosnia, which began its Ottomanization 75 years after Sarajevo was taken in by Gazi Isa-Beg.
