Dear Michael:
(1) Many thanks for your msg (ATTACHMENT I).
Yes, it was certainly my great pleasure to have met with you at the Quarter
Club in Manhattan on June 22nd. I enjoyed our conversations very much.
I also thank you very much for your beautiful wonderful slide presentation. I
am now taking the liberty of disseminating it to our list members;

Dear
E-Colleagues — particularly in engineering background:
I strongly suggest that you
should go through it -- at least, its conclusion from Page 52 on.
(2) I agree this direction with you 100%.
I even envision the future of interconnecting simulation models scattered
around the world via broadband Internet as the extension of our GCEPG —
for example, as assigning students for designing different parts of building
(e.g., structure, electricity, water pipelining, etc., etc.) -- I once heard
that the NASA did similar with the design of a mockup space shuttle, assigning
high schools around the US for fuselage, main wing, tail wing, landing gear,
etc., and assembling them at a central location, of course, through Internet.
This can also be done with high polymer pharmaceutical drugs, as letting
student groups in various countries designing their parts and joining together
through Internet. This is to establish collaborative creative environment with
young multiple heads around the world -- see Reference (a) above.
Dear Prof. Kyamakya:
(3) I am very delighted to know your strong interest in creating GUS/Congo, by
the kind introduction of Michael.
Pls take a look on Section IX ÒAction PlanÓ of Reference (c) above on how to
create GUS — though GUS/Egypt is now dormant.
Reference (d) above shows the current status of our Nigerian colleagues
activities on the (a) GCEPG and (b) GUS projects. Reference (e) above is
a recent paper about both of those projects.
You may join in GCEPG project, should you be able to find appropriate person
with national economy, energy and environment simulation models of your Congo
for sustainable development policy analysis.
(4) As MichaelÕs on-line engineering education and our GCEPG would require, a
broadband Internet connection is a vital necessity. As you see in the
following diagrams, it (even at 3.8 Tera bps optical fiber line) is now just at
the front door of your Congo, so that the next step would be how to extend it
to your desired locations in Congo;

(5) This project of having broadband Internet connectivity may related to our
advocacy of deploying ultra high speed optical fiber net along the proposed
superhighway connecting sub Saharan countries with US$4.5 billion pledged by
the Japanese government at the Fourth Tokyo International Conference on African
Development ( TICAD IV) <http://www.ticad.net/> -- see also References (f) and (g)
above.
(6) Pls feel free to contact me if you have any further questions.
Best, Tak

Subject: Our meeting in June
Dear
Tak,
first of all please apologize my delayed answer, but I was very busy the last
weeks (Travel, exams, ...).
Again thank you very much for the meeting in NY and the interesting talk.
As I already told you, a good colleague of mine - Prof. Kyandoghere Kyamakya -
is interested to found a GUS branch in Kongo (Kinshasa). We are together
underway to establish a master course in "Remote Engineering" for
students in Kinshasa. This could be a first project of the branch.
For this project a broad band Internet connection is necessary and may be there
is the possibility to join the initiative regarding a high speed Internet
backbone for Africa.
Furthermore I attach to this email the portfolio of our CCOL as electronic
document.
I look forward to a fruitful cooperation. Have a nice summer time.
Best regards,
Michael
