(03/11/06) Thriving African film industry, Nollywood
Dear Prof Utsumi/William,
First let me appreciate the efforts involved in ensuring that this loop remains
alive and active.
William, I am in position to verify and validate the claims about Nigeria's
emerging film industry...The Nolywood Experience....
William is absolutely right.
The next level of Nolywood is the converged services level of knowledge and
creative content. What is covertly
emerging and actively at play at its early stages is the emergence of the new creative
class in Africa/Nigeria - championed by the knowledge cluster industry.
The current sitiation is real and true. Multimedia demand is growning
simultaneously at the Film and Education Domains. IPTV investment is
also incubating at the corner.
My prediction is that the critical mass will - very soon - be built around Software Knowledge Engineering Design, Research and
Development.
Best wishes,
Regards,
Chris Uwaje
