I
have printed them all and will read them with great interest during this
holiday season. They are certainly very excellent documents.
(3) It would be wonderful opportunity if you can attend the following;
"Systems
Dynamics Based Development Planning"
Exchange Course in partnership with University of Bergen, Norway from March 23
to May 8, 2009
<http://www.millennium-institute.org/news/051208.html>
Dear Dorien:
(4) Many thanks for your msg (ATTACHMENT II).
Which of universities in the Netherlands provides the credits of this course?
Dear Peter:
You may seriously consider to take her course — pls contact her if she
provide it with e-learning. This would be an excellent prelude to the
system dynamics modeling of your GSEEED project in Nigeria/Niger Delta region.
You may be able to include this experience into your Ph.D. Thesis, too.

Dear Peter:
(5) It is good to read your msg to Hans (ATTACHMENT III). Hope you will keep a good contact with
him.
(6) Thanks also for your msg to Weishuang and Andrea (ATTACHMENT IV).
I am very happy to know that you are getting ready to work with them on your
GSEEED/Nigeria project <http://tinyurl.com/3k2fk9>.
I would suggest that you firstly produce a brief (1~2 pages) write-up on the
followings — you and Walter are the ones who know well the conditions in
Nigeria/Niger Delta region;
(a) Purpose —
as elaborating what I said before on Al GoreÕs energy policy,
(b) Its consequences in the foreseeable future — particularly to Niger
region and Nigeria as a whole,
(c) Proposed methodologies for Nigerian energy policy analysis — this
part may be written by Weishuang and Andrea with their extensive experiences
with T21 projects in various African countries,
(d) Expected benefits — particularly on the reduction of conflicts among
local stakeholders in Niger Delta region.

Black Gold: Hope and Betrayal in the Niger Delta,Ó National Geographic, February 2007
This
article tells how miserable those people in the Niger Delta region are, even
though the region produces plenty of oil money.
Your write-up is to be refined by Weishuang and Andrea and then to be
incorporated into our previous one <http://tinyurl.com/3k2fk9>
— I would be happy to be consulted during the course. We will then
send it to Walter for his approval for his school to raise fund with it for his
planning workshop next May.
Subsequently, your write-up would be the first starting point to approach to
high officials of Niger region local state governments as well as Nigeria
federal government in Abuja — i.e., for marketing your GSEEED/Nigeria
project.
Keep in touch.
Best, Tak

Subject: T21 REFERENCES
Dear TAK,
This is a resend with slightly different attachments. The first mail by my
yahoo address did not seem to have been delivered as my copy to my campus email
did not arrive.
I remain eternally grateful for the priviledged opportunities you are bringing
my way. I will write to Dr. Hans R. Herren later today to thank him for the
opportunity, and to Weishuang Qu, and Andrea Bassi as per your request to
refine the Concept Paper of our project.
I spent some time on the Millennium Institute Website and found a lot of
Information about their T21 System and Applications, which I hereby attach the
African Economic Outlook Model and Andrea's Paper for your reference and await
your further guidance and direction.
They are running a Full 7-week "Systems Dynamics Based Development
Planning" Exchange Course in partnership with University of Bergen, Norway
from March 23 to May 8, 2009. I believe the course should be based on the T21
System. The timing does not affect my earlier plans for the Summer. I wish to
apply for this course as they seem to have some funding opportunities for
Professionals and Students from developing countries. Although here again, if I
have to fund myself, I can try to seek extra support from other sources. I
think this should give me a good grounding in their modelling and simulation
system before I come to the USA. I notice also, that they are using the Vensim
Simulation Tool for most of their work, an encouraging discovery; I recall that
you already mentioned this to me earlier.
Kindly direct further, Sir

Methodology of Societal Complexity
Dear Tak,
Recently I developed an internet course on Methodology of Societal Complexity
for master and Ph.D. students and for policy makers
There are 4 follow up
courses.
Each e-course consists of theory and practice and assignments of 6 student
credits..
One gets a step by step
further an introduction into the field of handling complex societal problems
and making simulation models and learn the methodology Compram.
Learning how to produce sustainable knowledge for handling terrorism, climate
change, global safety and floods for instance.
The study material is illustrated with power point presentations and video.
The students will get feedback via email on their the assignments.
Each e-course is
rewarded with a diploma.

(12/09/08) GSEEED project for verifying Al Gore's proposed energy policy
Dear Dr. Hans R.
Herren,
I really appreciate the opportunity of getting to know you through TAK. I
am humbled to know also, that you actually spent that length of time in Nigeria
helping us to combat insects to protect our most cherished national food
(Garri). I hope you enjoyed it as Eba?
Thank you for accepting to work with me on Systems Dynamics Modeling and
Simulation. I have spent some time on your Website and found a lot of work you
are doing with the T21 Initiative. You have done quite a number of diverse T21
models and simulations at national and regional levels. It appears that while
you have already done some work in Ghana, there is still some opportunity to do
similar work in Nigeria and other parts of West Africa as your comments
highlight.
As I am currently using Vensim as my preffered Tool, when I noticed that you
also use Vensim for your work I was elated. I saw the paper by Andrea on U. S.
Energy Modeling with T21.
I eagerly look forward to meeting and working with you soon. I may make some
Eba for you to bring back your old memories of Ibadan. I noticed though that
you have a Nigerian on your team (Adedoyin Onasanya).

Dear Weishuang/Andrea,
I was recently introduced to your Institute by Dr. Takeshi Utsumi, Founder of
the Global University System (GUS). I have written to Dr. Hans Herren to
express my appreciation of the opportuniity to work with you soon on some T21 projects.
Kindly look at the attached concept note on the GSEEED project intended to also
model Niger Delta/Nigeria's Energy based on Al Gore's proposed energy policy .
We would appreciate it if you can refine the paper with the iclusion of brief
description of the US Energy Model by Andrea, the T21 Model System, and some of
your other works on national and regional models using the T21 Tool.
Thank you in anticipation of your kind cooperation.
