Communication at Columbia University on October 31st, 2008.
I enjoyed to listen your excellent talk on the

(2) You may be interested in the Wideband InterNetworking
engineering test and Demonstration Satellite (WINDS) -- see Reference (a)
above;
This satellite was recently launched by the Japanese government, and can reach
to your friends in Borneo with broadband Internet — say, at 1.2 Gbps.
Although we have heard at the Columbia University conference that the ultra
broadband Internet via optical fiber would be the future, it would be difficult
for those developing countries in remote areas to get such a benefit with the
terrestrial or submarine optical fiber. Thus, this kind of broadband
satellite would be vital necessity for your friends in Borneo, if they would
like to be kept updated with the advanced Internet2 and its hypermedia
informatics.
