Dear Dorien:
(1) Many thanks for your msg (ATTACHMENT I) with kind words.
I greatly appreciate your cordial invitation for my paper to your prestigious ÒJournal of Organisational
Transformation and Social Change.Ó
(2) I am sorry to say that I did not receive your msg — I searched all of
my folders in my hard disk and in my email system, but in vain. This is
really strange thing I have never encountered before. (However, I
received your last Xmas greetings dated December 22nd, 2006 with thanks.)
(3) I realized the deadline for the submission of a paper has already passed.
Therefore, I hastily gathered relevant phrases from my previous papers and
gathered/assembled them to come up the following paper in the past few days;
ÒGlobally Collaborative Peace Gaming with Global
University SystemÓ
<http://preview.tinyurl.com/29obgb>
I hope this is satisfactory with you — if not, pls feel free to inform me
any further revisions to be made.
(4) In return, I shall wait your outline write-up for the GSEEED project
focusing on the Altai Region as mentioned in my last msg;
(10/27/07) Application of COMPRAM Methodology to Policy
Analysis of Altai Region
http://preview.tinyurl.com/2yb2af
I would like to attach your write-up to our grant application to the Japan
Foundation.
(5) Pls also send me your letter of commitment at your earliest convenience.
Thanks in advance.
Best, Tak

The special will be on methodology for transformation and social change on the subject
of societal complexity and global safety.
You have proven to be able to develop an interesting approach to this subject.
Please feel free to write the article together with a colleague.
The theme of the
special issue is methodology on complex societal issues and global safety. The
essence of your contribution is methodology.
We are interested in the methodology you
use applied to transformation and social change on the theme of societal
complexity and global safety. Please describe your own methodology and how this
methodology can take care of transformation and social change on the subject of
complex societal issues and global safety.
In order to give you some idea of your contribution. The definition of societal
complexity I use is ( see below).
Global safety is a container concept. It refers to healthcare, safety, global
safety, sustainable development. To be more specific healthcare refers to
patient safety, virus such as flu, bird flu, the flu pandemic, HIV/Aids,
elderly care and psychiatric care etc.
Safety refers to crime (for instance in South–Africa) terrorism, national
safety, computer crimes, traffic safety, wars, earth quakes, hurricanes and
large city problems.
Sustainable development refers to sustainable development in production, making
the product and working conditions, environment, agriculture, foot and mouth
disease, BSE, fowl plague, climate change and Co2 emission.
Please feel free to give your own interpretation of global safety and
transformation and social change.

Definition of Complex Societal Problems DeTombe 2005
a complex societal problem is a real life problem, which has a large and often
different impact on different groups of society. The problem has often an
impact on all the levels of the society, on micro, meso and macro level.
Often it seems that the problem suddenly Ôpops-upÕ. The problem is dynamic, it changes
during its development. The future development of the problem is uncertain.
It is often difficult to become aware of
the problem and difficult put it on the political agenda. It is difficult to get grip on the
problem, to handle the problem. Only changes are possible, no ÔsolutionsÕ.
The problem has a knowledge, a power and
an emotional component.
The problem consist of many phenomena which are complicated
intertwined with each other. Often there is a lack of knowledge, the data are
incomplete, uncertain or in contradiction with each other. The problem is
interdisciplinary and it takes theories from different fields to explain what
is happening.
There are many parties involved. Each
party has a different view on the problem, a different definition of the
problem, and has different goal and desires. The parties often have different
ÔsolutionsÕ for the problem. The different parties involved have different
power over the problem.
The problem often provokes much emotion in society.
