Dear E-Colleagues:

(1) Pls refer to my following previous list distributions;

(a) (03/21/07) Possible creation of GUS/Palestine/Gaza Strip and Peace Gaming

(b) (03/31/07) Peace e-Learning Initiative/Pilot Project with possible GUS/Palestine/Gaza-Strip

Dear Fouad:

(2) Many thanks for your msg (ATTACHMENT I).

This is an excellent letter.  However, you mentioned of a gigabit satellite.  I don’t know if there is such a satellite over your area.

According to the following diagram <EUMEDCONNECT Network copy> <http://tinyurl.com/3bbedg>, there are following terrestrial lines;

(a) Between the UK and Palestine — at 45 Mbps,
(b) Between France and Jordan — at 45 Mbps.

You may try to put those two together to have bigger bandwidth, to join in GEANT2 <GEANT2 copy.pdf> <http://tinyurl.com/2vs9o6>.

As said elsewhere before, satellite is for interim use, till broadband optical fiber net is to be installed, since it is much cheaper and faster once installed.

Dear Jim:

(3) It has been sometime since our last correspondences.  Hope everything is going well and fine with you.

You once worked on the deployment of broadband Internet in Jordan.

How was that project since then?

Best, Tak

Subject: Palestinian E-learning and e-healthcare/telemedicine and INK project

Dear Prof. Utsumi,

One of my idea is to use your webpage statement for the following letter, to spread the words for a special people within the official Palestinian Authority, to convince them to create GUS/Palestine/Gaza Strip wireless network to cover Gaza Strip with the WiFi cloud with this letter including also, my private initiative statement project including e-INK project.

You could also edit or adjust a statement of this letter and, if its O.K. then send it back to me so, I can send this letter to the official of the Palestinian Authority. I have power of that.

Warmest

God Bless All.

Fouad

Global Peace
Through
The Global University System (GUS)

Subject: Palestinian E-learning and e-healthcare/telemedicine and e-INK

GUS aims to build a higher level of humanity with mutual understanding across national and cultural boundaries for global peace.  The GUS is a worldwide initiative to create advanced telecom infrastructure for accessing educational resources around the world.

The aim is to achieve "education and healthcare for all," anywhere, anytime and at any pace for the Palestinian People.

The mission of GUS is to help higher educational and healthcare institutions in remote/rural areas of developing countries (example, the Palestinian People) to deploy broadband Internet in order to close the digital divide. Learners may take courses from different member universities, obtaining their degree from the GUS, thus freeing them from being confined to one academic culture of a single university or country.

These institutions also act as the knowledge center of their community for the eradication of poverty and isolation. Those institutions affiliated with GUS become members of the GUS/UNESCO/UNITWIN Networking Chair Program located at the University of Tampere in Finland. We envision to interlink those members through broadband Private Virtual Network to conduct mega-videoconferences as well as related research project, “Globally Collaborative Environmental Peace Gaming (GCEPG).”

The Palestinian People possible creation of GUS/Palestine/Gaza Strip and Peace Gaming Initiative.

The GCEPG is a computerized gaming/simulation with a globally distributed computer simulation system to help decision makers construct a globally distributed decision-support system for positive sum/win-win alternatives to conflict and war.

The idea involves interconnecting experts in many countries via the global Internet to collaborate in the discovering of new solutions for world crises like ours in Gaza/west Bank, such as the deteriorating ecology of our globe, and to explore new alternatives for a world order capable of addressing the problems and opportunities of an interdependent globe.

Our projects focus on the content delivery through broadband Internet (satellite, terrestrial, wireless, etc.) and we need a facility for a gigabit satellite for eradication of poverty and isolation in remote/rural areas of developing countries, like ours the Palestinian territory particularly on the intercultural mutual understanding for attaining global peace.

Dear Fouad:
You may delete the red marked portion because of my reason mentioned above.

This is to construct information and knowledge societies, and to bridge the knowledge and digital gap that exists between developed and developing countries, as promoting free exchange of ideas and knowledge; to maintain, increase and disseminate knowledge through our work in education, the sciences, culture and communication.

As an extension of our GCEPG project, we will foster creativity of youngsters around the world. Researchers in developing countries can co-work with colleagues in advanced countries to perform joint collaborative research with use of virtual laboratories for experiential/constructive learning and creation of knowledge through the global GRID technology, thus forming Globally Collaborative Innovation Network (GCIN).
