(4) I once had communications on the possible creation of GUS/Bolivia with Mrs. Muller of Universidad Privada de Santa Cruz de la Sierra (UPSA) in Bolivia through the introduction of Dr. Lima of Peruvian For Applied Science University in Peru (whom my wife, Hisae, and I met in Havana, Cuba before).

Should you have an occasion to visit Bolivia, pls feel free to follow-up this subject with Mrs. Muller, since I havenÕt heard from her colleagues since then yet.

Incidentally, the president of Bolivia visited Tokyo very recently and had a good reception by the Japanese government.  He pledged to abolish war as following the Japanese constitution.

Wishing you a very good luck to your work at the FAO in Rome and pls convey hello to your family members in Milan from Hisae,

Best, Tak

Re: [gu-new] (03/22/07) John Eger's new essay on Power Shift for flattening societal structure

Dear Takeshi,
I was very impressed by John Eger's work. I'm currently working on a case study in a network of municipalities in Bolivia, where we would like to develop a collaborative system to manage natural resources and support rural communities in their development and in the disaster risk management (due to climate variability and change). For this aim we would like to introduce the use of ICT tools between the stakeholders of the network. This tools could be very useful to monitor resources and receive informations over best practises and early warning messages.
Do you think that the smart communities' principles could be applied in such a case? Maybe a case study in a Developing Countries could also be interesting for J. Eger's work itself.
Hoping to receive your point of view.
Thanks for your always-interesting e-mails.
Best,
Simone
