Dear Susan:
(1) Many thanks for your msgs (ATTACHMENT I and II).
(2) I have re-read your draft project proposal on the creation of the Central
Asia HIV Research Center in Kazakhstan <http://tinyurl.com/2779vg>

I can be at your office in the afternoon (preferably after 2:30 pm) of any day

since I will attend Columbia monthly seminar on ÒComputer, Man and SocietyÓ in
its evening at the Faculty Club.
Anyway, pls let me know of any date for your convenience.

Subject: Meeting to Introduce
you to my colleagues at the Social Intervention Group
Dear Takeshi:
We are long overdue to host a meeting at the Social Intervention Group of the
Columbia University School of Social Work, to tell you about our interest and
work in Central Asia. My colleagues, Nabila and Louisa, are in the process of
establishing a research center in Kazakhstan. We must meet when your schedule
permits to discuss if there are potential collaborations with projects in the
region in which you are engaged.
Please let us know some times and dates that would work for you so that we can
have a meeting.
With best regards,
Susan (Witte)

Subject: RE: Inquiry of our
visit
Dear Tak:
Please forgive the delay in follow-up to schedule a meeting with my colleagues,
Dr. Nabila El-Bassel and Louisa Gilbert, at the Social Intervention Group.
As I explained, they are currently developing an HIV Research Center in
Kazakhstan (please see attached proposal draft) with other Centers at Columbia,
including CCNMTL. They have asked me to forward this proposal to you for
review, and to determine if this is consistent with the GUS goals. If you
believe that the goals of GUS and of the HIV Research Center are common, please
let us know if we may have a joint meeting here at the Columbia University
School of Social Work at some time in the future to discuss how we might
collaborate.
Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.
With best regards,
Susan
