Dear Prof. Ramalhoto:

(1) I am taking the liberty of disseminating your following new paper to our list members;

Tansforming academic globalization into globalization for all
European Journal of Engineering Education, Vol. 31, No. 3, June 2006, 349-359
<CEEE_A_164388.pdf>

I read it with great interest, and I sincerely thank you for your quoting our Global University System (GUS) project as an example of the so-called “Hybrid University.”  It is quite honor to us.

Dear E-Colleagues:

I strongly suggest that you read this article.

Your definition of the university institution (UI) is similar to ours, and your Trans-disciplinary Integrated Knowledge (TIK) project is also similar to our holistic approach.

I wholeheartedly agree with your following statement;

“a ‘bastion of globalization that can help globalize the world, in a positive sense’ is needed and that the UI has the potential to help build it. The construction of such a bastion of globalization calls for research on strategic and monitoring planning to manage globalization and technological and scientific change. To properly manage this a more holistic view and a better interface across all relevant knowledge areas is necessary.”

I would then greatly appreciate it if you can kindly lend us your expertise in the forthcoming development of our GUS around the world.
