Concept Paper
on
the Creation of Global University System (GUS)
in Ghana and later in Countries of ECOWAS
http://makeashorterlink.com/?F20323F2D
This was prepared for the meeting of the Director-General of Kofi Annan Center in Ghana with the high official of the ECOWAS — with my hope that each of the ECOWAS would create their GUS.
(5) I greatly appreciate your cordial invitation to your university.
My visit may be possible and it could coincide with your international conference on “Information, Society, Man and English/American Literature” at your university.
I would suggest that you compose a concept paper for this event together with the creation of GUS/Turkey for fund raising.
You may then ask the fund to Japan Foundation or some of funding sources (particularly the Japanese ones) listed in the following web site;

Subject: GUS
Dear Professor Utsumi,
As someone you’ve given the privilege to share in the development of GUS’s projects, and its current achievements; I would like to express my gratitude for taking me on the list (paulsilva_1@msn.com).
Also, I’m delighted to inform you that I’ve just taken up a new full time tenure in the department of English Language and Literature, Canakkale Onsekiz Mart University. You should see how delighted I am on realising that we are one of the very few universities in Turkey with a Japanese Department and the only one teaching the Japanese Language.
We’ll be delighted if you would visit us in the nearest future, your busy schedules allowing, of course.
Resources remain problematic and I will appreciate if you could advice us on how to obtain laptop cheaply for our students and staff. I remember, if am correct, $300 - $350 was mentioned on the list before.
I would also be grateful if you would advise me on how our University can become a member of GUS, and if it will be possible in the nearest future for GUS to host an internationaql conference on “Information, Society, Man and English/American Literature”; here at Canakkale www.comu.edu.tr <http://www.comu.edu.tr/>
I look forward to parnership projects between our English Language & Literature Department and GUS.
Wishing you the very best,
Prof. Paul A. Silva

Subject: Hello from Stan Loh
Hello Takeshi-san,
Hope you are having a good summer.
I wish to tell you of an exciting project I've been working on besides Advanced Interactive in the past 6 months. I have taken up a position with Mercurial Innovations International (MI-2) in Victoria, British Columbia to develop a ROM-based Computer called Ink-PC. Prototypes of this exciting PC is being built as we speak and should be ready in the October/November timeline. The PC will be using Open Source and will be robust, fast and inexpensive. We are targetting this at about the US$250.00 price range...and this includes the monitor.
We strongly believe that this tool will have tremendous social benefit in the areas where the GUS efforts are working.
I am attaching a powerpoint for your review.
By the way, MI-2 is a subsidiary of Mercurial Communications. This company wrote the source code for Netscape 8.0 browser for AOL/Time Warner.
Warm regards,
Stan Loh
