Prof. Stuart A. Umpleby <umpleby@gwu.edu>
Dear Bernd:
(1) Many thanks for
your msg (ATTACHMENT I) -- sorry for my belated reply due to my trip to the WSIS
in Tunis in November and subsequent reports about it and other matters.
I am very delighted to be introduced by Stuart to you and to your prestigious
Research Committee 51 (RC51) of the International Sociological Association
(ISA).
I am taking the liberty of attaching here your following materials for our list
members (total about 3,000);
(a)
International Sociological Association (ISA) <http://www.ucm.es/info/isa/>

<Filename: isa_id.rtf>,
(b) Research Committee 51 (RC51) <http://www.unizar.es/sociocybernetics>

(c) 2nd Call for Paper of the XVIth World Congress of Sociology
The Quality of Social Existence in a Globalising World
Durban, South Africa, July 23-29, 2006

(2) I am also very glad to hear of your strong interest and willingness to
participate in our Globally Collaborative Environmental Peace Gaming (GCEPG)
Project.
Upon your request, I composed a synopsis of your Global University System (GUS)
and the GCEPG projects, which MS/WORD file is attached to this msg;

I hope this is satisfactory for your newsletter.
(3) The Millennium Institute <http://www.millenniuminstitute.net/> in
Arlington, VA has also indicated their willingness to participate in this
project with their national system dynamics models of Bangladesh, China, Ghana,
Guyana, Italy, Malawi, Somaliland, Tunisia, and the United States.
They also indicated me that their institute would be willing to be the global
center of our GCEPG project, as firstly organizing a planning workshop —
we may seek fund for this from the European Commission/National Science
Foundation joint program along with the European Learning GRID Infrastructure
(ELeGI) Project for which I am one of the Scientific Advisory Board members.
The ELeGI hopes to make this GCEPG a powerful demonstration of their project,
too. Incidentally, the Club of Rome people also indicated their interest
in this GCEPG project during the WSIS in Tunis.
When this workshop is confirmed, I will inform to you so that you or your RC51
members may participate in it, particularly for the construction of
socio-economic-environmental simulation models with System Dynamic methodology,
which is based on the feedback theory of cybernetics.
Keep in touch.
Pls have a very Happy and Healthy New Year!!
Best, Tak
