Footnote 9a:
Ancient Greek may be said scientific, compared to engineering of Roman's era with building roads, bridges, aqueducts, and coliseums, etc. which could have lasted millenniums.

As an engineer by education, I have been wondering how Roman could build such monumentals with Roman numerals. I was surprised to read recently in the Book Review section of The New York Times that Roman built them with the use of only rulers and compasses, i.e., with the use of geometry, but not any numerical calculations for their designing.
