Slide 5/Narration
This slide is out of Chapter I/Verse 1 of the Book of John of the Bible.
I once also quoted this in the beginning of my General Chairman's message of the 1971 Summer Computer Simulation Conference in Boston -- which was mentioned in Chapter I.
en arch, hn o logos,
"arch" is "beginning," and "logos" is "word."
"In the beginning, there was Word,"
"logos" is the origine of the word "logic." The word is the unit of human communication. Therefore, my interpretation of this line is that our human communication has to be logical.
kai o logos hn pros ton qeon,
"kai" is "and," "logos" "Word," "pros" "with" and "qeon" is "God."
"and the Word was with God,"
kai qeos hn o logos.
"kai" is "and," "qeos" "God," "hn" "was," and "logos" is "Word."
"and God was the Word."
